Sautéed Mushrooms

I never understood why a lot of people don’t like mushrooms. I love them! They taste good with almost anything! A lot of people think they’re slimy and gross. But, if cooked right they are not slimy at all. In fact, these sautéed mushrooms will practically melt in your mouth!

Mushrooms have many health benefits and can help reduce the risk of many health conditions! They’re full of antioxidants and other nutrients. They are a great source of vitamin D and Selenium, which are important for most of us with autoimmune diseases as many of us are deficient in these.

I like to sauté my mushrooms in pork lard because solid fats help to absorb the vitamins better. You can use any solid fat you prefer. Make sure you wash your mushrooms well before cooking. Most of the time they come with dirt still on them. I like to leave my mushrooms whole for this recipe, but feel free to slice them or dice them however you like.
