Sautéed Apples
Apples are high in antioxidants which may help reduce the risk of getting certain diseases. They are also high in fiber, so they can help you lose weight. There are many other benefits of apples. This goes back to the old saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”.
These sautéed apples are so delicious and easy to make. If you want to avoid extra sugar, you can always leave the honey out. They will still be delicious without it. Just a tad less sweet.
I like mine to be tender, but still a little crispy. If you like yours softer, just cook them longer. You can also peel them if you’d like, but I prefer to keep the peels on.
Chop the apples to whatever size you like. I like mine tiny, but you can slice or chop bigger if you’d like depending on what you’re using them for. Then, just add all of the ingredients to a saucepan and cook for 5-7 minutes (or longer if you like them softer).
These sautéed apples are great as a topping for grain-free farina. You can put them on oatmeal or anything other hot cereal you can tolerate. If you’d like to see a dessert recipe that uses them, see my Snickerdoodle Apple Nachos.
I’d love to hear what you did with these sautéed apples!
